House Engadein is located on the Rittner high plateau, in Oberinn, at 1,395 meters. For over 100 years, this location was the site of an old family farmhouse, which, together with the Hotscher and the Heisler homesteads formed a hamlet. We have rebuilt the farmhouse according to old models and traditional craftsmanship.

Two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and balconies; a reading room with a view of the forest; a living room with a panoramic window and a desk with two workstations; an original old Stube that has been restored with great craftsmanship; a perfectly equipped kitchen; a guest bathroom; a wardrobe; a stone cellar for wine and Speck; a terrace: this is House Engadein. There is a modern barn located immediately adjacent to the house, with a garage downstairs and a large room above it.

There really isn’t much to be found around Haus Engadein, and that’s a good thing. There are two or three neighbouring families, otherwise only meadows and forests. It takes 20 minutes to walk to the village shop in Oberinn and about 3 hours to hike to the next mountain summit. The ski area and hiking resort Corno del Renon is a 15-minute drive away.

If this place could talk, House Engadein would tell tales of the life and the experiences of a farming family; the people who were born and grew up here, who worked here, who came and went. You can still sense the simplicity of past times, the rough and the real but also the beauty and the proximity to nature.

Here you can work and be creative or you can simply take a break. Perhaps you can reflect back to when we were satisfied with only a little. You somehow feel a bit like you are in a long forgotten time. Maybe you feel gratitude to be there with the right people. Maybe you can enjoy the present moment. Because isn’t that the true luxury of our time?
