Hosts Anna and Alois Matscher came to the culinary world as career changers. The idea to transform an old village house into a jewel of a restaurant was and is a success story.
A quote from Anna really says it all: ‘The origin of the raw ingredients is very important to me. Because the kitchen is where my creativity has free reign. For me, cooking expresses my joy of living.’ And you can sense and taste it.
After several courses with the best and brightest of the scene, Anna cooked herself into the culinary starry sky, largely self-taught, after only ten years. Meanwhile Alois plunged into the world of wine and is now an expert sommelier. Their daughter also discovered a passion for wine and enjoys sharing her knowledge.
