The Assenhütte certainly has one of the most beautiful locations in the Merano region. Peace and quiet are what awaits you there, nestled into vast meadows and the rock faces of the Hirzer hiking region. On the sunny terrace, you can choose from a small menu and enjoy simple but very good food.

The hut is best reached on the No. 40 hiking trail from the mountain station of the Hirzer cable car. Surefootedness is called for along a short section of the trail, which is marked accordingly.
