INSPIRED BY THE SOUL OF THE LOCATION

Pergola is one of the first ‘hotel projects’ of the globally renowned designer and architect Matte Thun. As in all of his projects, the ‘genius loci’, the soul of the location, defines the architecture. Here it is not only respected, but it also becomes a source of inspiration – and you can see and feel that.

INTEGRATED INTO ITS SURROUNDINGS

Reflecting the traditional design of vine pergolas, the terraced, wooden structure of the building disappears into its surroundings with the architecture inextricably intertwined with this backdrop.

FUNCTIONAL

The larch wood facade, the room design concepts and the careful selection of materials are both beautiful and functional and all contribute to making your stay pleasant from the moment you arrive to the time you leave.

SENSUOUS

The scent of the wood-clad rooms, the feel of the natural stone in the bathrooms, in the indoor pool and in the courtyard have all been designed to stimulate your senses. And then, there is this panoramic vista through the extensive glass façade which also totally defines the inside time of your holiday experience.

timeless

Pergola has to be constant – that was and continues to be our aspiration. This is reflected in the durability of the materials through the prevailing use of wood, stone and glass. But it is also due to a timeless aesthetic.

CONSTANT

Built in 2004, the focus was not on short-term trends, but on a design that has always created a special feel-good experience – back then as it still does today. Since then, things have been maintained and renovated rather than replaced or newly created.
